Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to my contribution?
When you support the United Way of Mitchell County, you support a network of
35 local human service agencies committed to meeting the needs of the residents
of Mitchell County. Ninety-Nine (.99) cents of each dollar stays in Mitchell
County.
Who decides how my money is spent?
Volunteers, representing business, health, ministerial and other community
organizations serve on a Board of Directors which review funding requests from
all member agencies. The Board members scrutinize budgets, talk to agency staff
and then set the allocations to each agency based on the total goal of the
United Way of Mitchell County.
How can you help take care of people in your community?
You can make a real difference in someone's life, in the life of our
community, in your own life. Pledge your support through the United Way of
Mitchell County. If you would like to volunteer your time/talents or have any
questions regarding our member agencies, please call 828-765-7724 for Sandy
Jobe.
